Sohana has B Com and LLB degrees and over 20 years’ HR and Organisational Development experience, with particular expertise in Culture, Leadership, High Performing Ways of Working, Engagement and Diversity and Inclusion. 

Sohana has significant professional services experience, and has worked with a number of leading firms including Belly Gully, Simpson Grierson, Chapman Tripp, Buddle Findlay, ANZ Bank, Deloitte, PWC, Foodstuffs, Plant & Food, Inland Revenue and Internal Affairs. As a facilitator with over 20 years’ experience, Sohana has designed and facilitated numerous customised strategy sessions, leadership retreats, workshops, team building sessions and engagement action planning from grads to Senior Partners. Her facilitation skills have been described as ‘outstanding’, ‘practical’, ‘relevant’, ‘entertaining’, ‘interactive’ and ‘of great commercial value’. 

As a past People and Culture manager, business partner and consultant, Sohana has designed and implemented many culture initiatives across the employee experience cycle including driving employee engagement, bringing values to life, developing leaders, building connected teams, diversity and inclusion, effective talent mapping and succession planning, strategy and KPI planning, high performing ways of working, EVP, employee experience, onboarding and recruitment. She has previously worked in senior People and Culture roles at Auckland Council, Fonterra, Countdown, Kainga Ora, the Britomart Group and Emerge Aotearoa.


As a leadership coach, Sohana has worked with a number of directors and senior executives advising on their leadership legacy, engaging and motivating teams, persuasive presentations, influencing board members, pitching new ideas, developing their personal brand and storytelling. Clients have commended her “intuitive resource”, “ability to read people”, “superb expertise” and “valuable insight”.

Sohana has been engaged as a Keynote Speaker at numerous conferences and professional bodies, where her ability to engage and inspire with great humour has been highly regarded. This includes the Young Presidents Organisation (a forum for CEOs), the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Institute of Insurance Brokers, the Learning & Development Leaders Conference, the Diva Women’s Breakfast, the BNZ Business series, corporate social events, and several law firm Partners or Senior Associate Leadership & Strategy Days.
